VI International Congress of Flamencology and Flamenco Pedagogy
October 25
Flamenco has been, since its origins, not only an artistic expression, but also a field of profound academic interest. Within the framework of the Ciutat Flamenco festival, we present the sixth edition of the International Congress of Flamencology and Flamenco Pedagogy, in which musicians, researchers and teachers will meet to reflect on the genre from multiple perspectives.
Since its foundation in 1979, the Taller de Músics has been an educational reference point for flamenco in Catalonia, promoting its teaching and dissemination. Once again, with the collaboration of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) and the Escuela Superior de Música de Cataluña (ESMUC), the congress takes on an international focus, underlining the importance of this art form not only on stage, but also as an object of research and teaching.
Flamenco is not only danced, played and sung; it is also researched, taught and written about. This space seeks to foster interdisciplinary dialogue between artists, researchers and students, highlighting Barcelona's role as an epicentre of flamenco.
We invite you to take part in this meeting, which explores flamenco in all its dimensions: artistic, research and pedagogical.
