The Asian Film Festival Barcelona | AFFBCN 2025, the Asian auteur cinema festival organized by Casa Asia, lands at CASA SEAT to showcase the cultural richness and diversity of Asian and Pacific cinemas.

From November 5 to 8, the CASA SEAT auditorium will screen a selection of 8 auteur films, offering a unique opportunity to discover new stories and innovative ways of telling them.

The film featured in this session is Tale of the Land (Indonesia, 2024) by director Loeloe Hendra. It tells the story of May, a young woman from the Dayak people, an indigenous community of Borneo. After losing her parents in a violent conflict, she is rescued by her grandfather Tuha and now lives in a floating house far from the shore. Traumatized by past events, May suffers from a mysterious condition that causes her to faint whenever she steps on solid ground, leading villagers to label her as “cursed.”
