The Asian Film Festival Barcelona | AFFBCN 2025, the Asian auteur cinema festival organized by Casa Asia, lands at CASA SEAT to showcase the cultural richness and diversity of Asian and Pacific cinemas.
From November 5 to 8, the CASA SEAT auditorium will screen a selection of 8 auteur films, offering a unique opportunity to discover new stories and innovative ways of telling them.
The film featured in this session is Unconditional (Philippines, 2025), directed and written by Adolfo Borinaga Alix Jr. The film tells the story of Anna, a social media manager in Manila who escapes to Siargao to distance herself from her ex-partner’s corrupt political family. There, she meets Greg, a café worker caring for his mother with Alzheimer’s. Although hesitant to be fully open about his identity due to the discomfort and stigma often associated with trans people, Greg reveals himself to Anna. As their connection deepens, both must confront their own prejudices and decide whether love can transcend societal expectations and labels.
