Envy, conspiracies, amorous passions, jealousy and revenge are the ingredients of Un ballo in maschera, Verdi's opera to be staged at the Gran Teatre del Liceu from 7 to 20 February. The production, directed by Graham Vick, is set in an evocative space where impeccable acting captures the power of desire and underlines the strength of Verdi's score.
