A gale of great music full of humour, served up by the best Rossini singers of the moment. This is the title of the production of La Cenerentola to be staged at the Gran Teatre del Liceu from 16 May to 1 June. Based on Perrault's fairy tale Cinderella, Rossini and Ferret created an innovative work that was an immediate success due to the violent contrast between the personality of the protagonist, the sentimentality of the plot and the characters of Rossini's buffo world that surround her.
