Mexican writer and journalist Juan Villoro will visit the CASA SEAT auditorium to present the reissue of one of his most emblematic novels: Materia dispuesta (Almadía, 2023). Villoro will talk with writer and literary critic Jorge Carrión about a work that has been defined as an ironic reverse of apprenticeship novels and which is populated by characters engaged in their own quests. The author's vision of adulthood and his theory on the configuration of the contemporary subject will be some of the topics to be discussed during the meeting.
Juan Villoro (Mexico City, 1956) is recognized as one of the leading contemporary Latin American writers. Villoro is a regular contributor to the newspapers La Jornada, El País and El Periódico, received the Herralde Prize for his novel El testigo (2004) and was recognized by Spanish publishers with the Liber Prize in 2019.
