Urban Mobility
Pioneers
From September 6
to October 14
The history of the automobile is full of adventurous, curious, courageous and influential women who made the car the invention that changed the 20th century. With this exhibition, we want to rescue the figures of some of the pioneering women who, between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, contributed to the development of this invention that expanded our horizons and economies, created an industrial sector and gave rise to a multitude of associated professions, as well as offering new perspectives of freedom.
Through photographs, film extracts and various documents, we invite you to learn about the stories of these women and their contribution to the history of the automobile industry. You will also be able to experience what it would be like to drive a car without the safety systems devised by some of these pioneering women, as well as admire and enjoy the work "Dona al volant", a painting by Ramón Casas that forms part of the Fundació Orfeó Català-Palau de la Música Catalana collection.
Free admission during the opening hours of the space.
