This year is the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sergei Rachmaninoff, one of the great European post-romantic composers and most influential pianists of the 20th century. Pianist Fedor Veselov will give a recital paying tribute to the Russian musician. The programme will include Six moments musicaux op.16, a series of pieces composed in 1896, each reproducing a musical form characteristic of a previous musical era, and Rachmaninoff’s Piano Sonata No. 2.
