During the months of July and August, CASA SEAT will be screening a selection of films from the catalogue of the Spanish film platform Filmin. From 21 July, on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, films will be programmed in two categories: "Talent from here", which will offer works by Spanish directors, and a selection of "Family Cinema" films:

A Stormy Night

When Marcos, a friend of a friend, finds himself stranded, Alan reluctantly opens his home and offers him a room. David Moragas’ first feature film, presented in mesmerising black and white, channels the spirit of Woody Allen’s 70s’ films and American indie cinema. With humour and heartfelt moments, it explores the topic of being gay with authenticity and through laughter and tears.

Ramona

Upon settling back in Madrid with her boyfriend, Nico, Ramona is excited about a fresh start, dreaming of becoming an actress, entering motherhood and thriving in the vibrant Lavapiés neighbourhood. However, her dreams are soon dashed as she finds herself struggling to land auditions, facing unstable job prospects and living in a building plagued by two occupied flats selling drugs, leaving her in a constant state of terror.

El niño y el mundo

In an idyllic rural area of Brazil, a young boy lives happily with his family until his father is forced to leave to the city for work. Determined to find his father, the boy embarks on a captivating adventure that unveils a new world dominated by technology, machinery and the media. Cuca, the boy, experiences this reality with his childlike perspective, always striving to navigate challenges in the most playful and innocent way possible.

Mi vacío y yo

Raphi, a young, androgynous and somewhat naïve character, is a poet who dreams of falling in love with their own Prince Charming. Leaving their native France, Raphi moves to Barcelona, only to discover that reality is far from what they envisioned. Along their journey, they encounter doctors, colleagues, artists and men who offer their own advice, but only time and experience will help Raphi find their place in the world.

El vientre del mar

June 1816. The French frigate La Alliance runs aground on a sandbank off the coast of Senegal. Despite attempts to free the stranded vessel, all efforts prove futile, forcing those on board to abandon ship. With an inadequate number of lifeboats to accommodate everyone, the crew set about building a makeshift raft, measuring approximately 12 metres long and 6 metres wide. Aboard this precarious raft, 147 men find themselves thrust together: soldiers, sailors, a handful of passengers and a few officers.

Un efecto óptico

Alfredo and Teresa, a married couple from Burgos, embark on a journey to New York to “unwind” with a sight-filled getaway to the Big Apple. However, as soon as they touch down, they start to notice subtle, and not-so-subtle, signs that they are not actually in the city they were sold by the travel agency. So, where have they ended up?

The Little Prince

The story revolves around the special bond between a young Girl, whose demanding mother is preparing her for the adult world, and her peculiar neighbour, an elderly Aviator with a kind and whimsical nature. Through their friendship, the Aviator unveils a remarkable world where limitless possibilities exist—a world he himself discovered long ago with the Little Prince. So begins a magical and emotional journey as the Girl delves into the universe of the Little Prince, rekindling her connection with childhood and realising the true value of human relationships. She learns the profound truth that seeing with the heart is essential, for the most important things in life are invisible to the eyes.

Zag, dragones y heroínas

Zog, a young dragon, goes to school to learn how to fly, breathe fire and kidnap princesses. Nothing seems to go his way, but with the help of a kind-hearted princess, he learns to overcome obstacles and soon realises that there’s more to life than following the status quo. This heartwarming story is accompanied by four short films featuring brave and imaginative girls.
