Why Will Barcelona Be the World Capital of Architecture?
November 6
6:30 pm
Barcelona and its architecture have been capturing the world’s attention for decades, from Modernism to the latest trends. So much so that the city will serve as the World Capital of Architecture in 2026, a designation awarded by UNESCO and the International Union of Architects. The next session of the Moments Estel·lares series, organized by The New Barcelona Post, will explore why Barcelona has been and continues to be a reference in this field, as well as how the 2026 designation will impact the city.
Titled “Why Will Barcelona Be the World Capital of Architecture?”, the session will feature Maria Buhigas, Chief Architect of the City Council, and Daniel Mòdol, architect and urban planner. As usual, the conversation will be moderated by journalist and UPF-BSM professor Toni Aira, with support from CASA SEAT, Barcelona Global, and Must Media Group.
